The scriptures tell us to "look up." I suppose that is to say to elevate your sights from earthly things to the things of God. Well, on this day, January 12th, 2008, it made sense simply to look up and see what was in the sky.
It is interesting, as a general rule, how little of our viewing time is spent viewing the heavens. I had been out earlier and as is my habit, was looking to see whether the sunset would be nice. I took a couple pictures with the sky in the picture but decided to look at terrestrial features. So I took pictures of some old barns and houses and was about ready to call it quits when I "looked up."
The sky was "going crazy." After looking at the pictures it seems there is fierce wind in the jet stream and calm underneath which gave the effect of the streaming clouds offset by the stationary, puffy ones and they all, just at that moment were reflecting light like crazy.
I'm glad I had my camera and I'm glad to have seen it and be able to share it. Although the earth is telestial by nature, it seems to have its celestial moments and for me this was one of them. So remember, every now and then, LOOK UP!
