Backyard Gets "Sodded"

Jeanne, Emily and Rodger put sod down in the backyard last week. It was scheduled to be done the week before but it had been dry for 10 days and Rodger wasn't sure it was such a good idea to put sod down on dry ground. Well, it rained before the sod went down which created two interesting conditions. 1. The ground was wet, which is really a good thing since you don't want the sod drying out and shrinking up at the seams and dying after paying all that money for it. 2. The sod was wet, which I suppose was a good thing, again for the continued life of the sod. However, wet sod is PRETTY HEAVY! I think each roll weighed between 40 and 60 pounds and we put down about 200 rolls. Anyway, here are some pictures of the happy "sodders" and a little of the backyard.
